DS1302 adalah IC pewaktu (clock chip) trickle-charge(arus disalurkan dalam kuanta kecil dalam interval tetap dalam bentuk denyut pulsa) yang merupakan RTC (real-time clock) . Komunikasi dari mikrokontroler ke IC ini dilakukan melalui antarmuka serial tersinkronisasi yang sederhana melalui 3 jalur I/O: RST (reset), data, dan SCLK (serial clock).
